The GRLI Governance Framework (2018-01-29)

The Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative Foundation, established in Belgium in 2008, published this comprehensive governance framework on 29 January 2018 to codify its internal rules and regulations. Developed through collaborative review by the Governance Committee and Executive Committee, the framework articulates the foundation's commitment to corporate governance aligned with its advocacy mission.

The document establishes governance principles including transparency, fairness, honesty, dignity, and respect for law, alongside organizational values of freedom, humanity, responsibility, and sustainable development. It defines roles and responsibilities for the Board, Executive Director, committees, and stakeholder groups including the Council of Partners and Guardian Group. The framework covers board procedures, meeting protocols, committee terms of reference, stakeholder engagement strategies, and brand management guidelines.

The governance model reflects GRLI's distinctive relational and partnership approach rather than purely procedural oversight. As a foundation advocating globally responsible leadership, GRLI recognizes that demonstrating appropriate transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in its own operations is essential to credibility. This living document provides the operational infrastructure necessary for GRLI to fulfill its mission of catalysing responsible leadership development worldwide through collaboration, thought leadership, and systemic thinking.
