KLU is dedicated to advancing GRLI’s mission of fostering responsible leadership, sustainability, and global collaboration. KLU has undertaken numerous initiatives that align with GRLI’s goals, reflecting the university’s commitment to systemic transformation in education and business.
KLU’s Research Center for Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chains (CSLS) plays a crucial role in advancing knowledge in sustainable operations and supply chain management. In March 2023, CSLS hosted the EurOMA Sustainable Operations and Supply Chains Forum, bringing together over 150 participants from 20+ countries, and featuring around 70 research paper presentations. KLU hosted the forum also in 2024, further cementing its position as a leader in sustainable logistics research. Complementing this, KLU’s Research Center for Humanitarian Logistics and Regional Development (CHORD) focuses on improving logistics operations during humanitarian crises, contributing to global responsibility by developing efficient solutions for critical supply chain challenges.
Further reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, KLU organizes an annual Sustainability Summer School, which brings together students, academics, and industry leaders to explore innovative solutions to pressing global challenges. KLU has also implemented a Green Office to encourage sustainability initiatives within the university. The Green Office works with students, faculty, and staff to embed sustainable practices into everyday campus life, aligning with GRLI’s goal of addressing key global issues through hands-on engagement and collaborative impact projects.
KLU is also deeply invested in Inclusion, Diversity, and Equality (IDE), fostering an inclusive and equitable academic environment. To ensure that these principles are embedded in student life, KLU offers an introductory diversity and inclusion lecture during Welcome Week, as well as an open certificate program, “Fast Forward Together: Leading Inclusively in the Digital Age,” which helps students develop leadership skills centered on inclusivity. In the MBA program, students participate in a one-day diversity and inclusion module, and all course syllabi include an inclusion statement to ensure that these values are integrated into the learning experience.
KLU’s commitment to inclusivity extends to its faculty and staff. Faculty members have participated in inclusive leadership training, fostering a more inclusive academic culture. Plans are also in place to develop diversity and inclusion training for staff, further embedding these values across the university’s operations.
In addition to fostering diversity, KLU is committed to social responsibility. Through its Refugee Tuition Fee Waiver, KLU provides financial support to displaced individuals, helping them access higher education and integrating them into the global academic community. This initiative reflects KLU’s belief in the transformative power of education and aligns with GRLI’s focus on promoting equitable access to opportunities.
KLU’s global expansion plans further demonstrate its dedication to building capacity in emerging regions. A new campus is under development in Vietnam, with a focus on equipping students with logistics skills and competencies. Capacity-building programs will follow this in Africa and Latin America, where KLU aims to foster logistics expertise in regions with significant development potential. These global initiatives align with GRLI’s goal of driving systemic transformation and contributing to sustainable development on a global scale.
By joining GRLI, KLU seeks to further contribute its expertise in sustainability, logistics, and inclusion while benefiting from collaborative engagement with global peers. GRLI offers KLU the opportunity to accelerate organizational change, foster new partnerships, and continue its mission of promoting global responsibility and sustainable leadership. Together with GRLI, KLU looks forward to driving systemic change and creating a lasting positive impact on education, business, and society.
