Competency Assessment for Responsible Leadership (CARL)

CARL is an assessment tool designed to measure competencies and character dimensions associated with globally responsible leadership, responding to the need to assess "soft" but critical capabilities beyond knowledge testing. Incubated within the GRLI network, it translates responsible leadership into observable developmental dimensions and commitments, making progress trackable over time for individuals and programmes. GRLI's role has been to connect the tool into the broader ecosystem of responsible management education—supporting awareness, legitimacy, and practical uptake among partner schools and educators.
